At the core of our wealth management service is investment consulting - including asset allocation and security selection. Asset allocation is the determination of how to spread assets between classes such as stocks, bonds, real estate, alternative investments, and cash. This is the foundation to maximizing the potential of accumulated assets.

Once an asset allocation is established, specific investments within each asset class must be selected. We are fortunate to have a significant variety of liquid investment vehicles to choose from to build a well diversified portfolio.

However, true wealth management looks beyond these important decisions - considering advanced planning topics such as wealth enhancement (tax management), wealth transfer (wills and trusts), wealth protection (insurance), and charitable gifting.

We have made considerable strides formalizing the process and approach we take to achieving a sustainable wealth management program.

The Discovery or Re-Discovery Meeting
For new relationships, we begin with a detailed interview to completely understand our client's personality, history, financial situation, and goals. This is the foundation for our preliminary work and for the development of the client's investment policy statement.

For existing clients, we may suggest periodic "Re-Discovery Meetings." This allows us to update our records to ensure there are no relevant changes to personal or financial situations that should be included when considering an ongoing investment strategy.

The Investment Policy Statement
We prepare a detailed investment policy statement documenting the investment goals and asset allocation for the management of the client's portfolio. This document is a living document and will change periodically, but acts to establish a clear understanding of the role we play in managing our client's assets.

Wealth Forecasting
We are able to use complex mathematical models to measure the probability of meeting long-term investment goals. This allows us to look at a client's current financial situation and determine appropriate spending levels to prevent premature depletion of assets.

The Wealth Management Plan
Having a sound investment strategy will not always guarantee financial security. Over time, tax strategies, living trusts, life insurance, and gifting strategies all significantly impact one's financial picture. Through regular meetings with either our preferred experts or our client's established experts, we can ensure that these important issues are properly addressed not once, but continually to make certain any changes in the client's profile or relevant laws are incorporated into these living instruments.

Regular Progress Meetings
Life is unpredictable and often creates unforeseen events that can affect even the best laid plans. Therefore, it is essential to periodically revisit the investment policy and asset allocation. It is also important to update wealth forecasting models to ensure the actual outcome is considered into the forecasting model to provide an updated and more accurate forecast.

Our wealth management process is grounded in our ability to fully understand our clients' needs and knowing their most important financial goals, challenges, and values. This consultative approach is our framework for building and managing long-term relationships.

We are always available to discuss this process. Please feel free to contact us anytime.
