Bruce Raabe, President
Bruce’s tenure includes nearly twenty years of honing and developing a consultative wealth management process for Bay Area high net-worth families and private foundations. His expertise in investment policy development, asset allocation, security selection (domestic and international) has allowed him to develop an understanding of the special circumstances surrounding the financial needs and goals of his clients and the significant organizations he works with. Bruce also acts as his clients’ personal financial officer working closely with their other professional relationships thereby addressing advanced planning needs that are often neglected.

As President of Collins & Company, Bruce is instrumental in creating and driving the strategic initiatives of the company and determining which direction the company should take to best serve the foundations and families he works with.

Background, Education and Professional Qualifications:

Bruce’s professional designations include Registered Investment Advisor, Chartered Financial Analyst, General Securities Principal, NYSE Supervisory Analyst, Registered Options Principal, and General Securities Representative. In addition, Bruce received his Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from the University of California at Davis, and his MBA in Finance from Golden Gate University.

Bruce is a member of the Council on Foundations Philanthropic Advisory Network, The Marin Estate Planning Council, The Financial Planning Association, and the CFA Institute. Bruce also serves on the boards and committees for several Bay Area non-profit organizations. His current and former board experience includes Sunny Hills Services, Red Hill Academy, USF Center for Global Justice, and the Quincy Foundation for Medical Research. Bruce is the founder of HelpMarin.org.

Bruce and his wife, Theresa, live in Kent Woodlands with their two children, Jordan and Brooke. As an accomplished pilot, scuba diver and cyclist, Bruce enjoys the adventures offered by the great outdoors.


Justin D. Burt, Senior Portfolio Manager
As the Senior Portfolio Manager, Justin is responsible for daily monitoring of our client portfolios and directing the research staff. This duty entails diligent research, both in the equity and credit markets, and a constant awareness of material financial and economic events.

Background, Education and Professional Qualifications:

Prior to joining Collins & Company in 1999, Justin gained investment experience as an Investment Adviser at Fidelity Investments. Working directly with clients, he was responsible for individual portfolio management, trade execution, product education and supervision of a team of equity traders.

In 1997, Justin received his Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing and Economics from Utah State University. He holds the professional designations of Chartered Financial Analyst, Registered Investment Adviser, General Securities Representative, NYSE Supervisory Analyst and Registered Investment Adviser.

Justin is a member of the Association of Investment Management and Research and the Security Analysts of San Francisco.

Justin lives in Novato with his wife Angela, and their two children - Emerson and Jackson. Away from the office, Justin enjoys fly-fishing, golf, surfing, and snowboarding.



Nicole Murphy, Client Relations Manager
As the Client Relations Manager, Nicole ensures that our clients' needs are met with the utmost care and efficiency. Her responsiveness, attention to detail, and superior customer service skills play an integral role in the successful delivery of our wealth management experience.

Prior to joining Collins & Company, Nicole applied her credentials as a paralegal while employed as Senior Trust Administrator with the Mechanics Bank Wealth Management group. While at the bank, Nicole was responsible for the daily administration of high net-worth client trust accounts. In addition to administering accounts and fostering client relationships, she also worked on several complex estate administrations and regularly attended continuing education seminars through the Bar Association of San Francisco.

Background, Education and Professional Qualifications:

Nicole received her Bachelor of Arts degree in English and Business from Rollins College in Winter Park, Florida and her Paralegal Certificate from San Francisco State University. In addition, she holds the professional designation of General Securities Representative. Nicole continues to pursue advanced education through her studies at the Cannon Financial Institute and is currently a candidate for the Certified Trust and Financial Advisor designation.

Nicole is a member of the San Francisco Paralegal Association and a Notary Public.

Nicole and her husband, Tom, live in San Rafael. Outside of the office, Nicole enjoys traveling the globe, mountain biking, and chasing after her two adopted greyhounds.



Leda Simonsen, Operations Manager
Leda's personal philosophy is closely aligned with that of Collins & Company, making her an excellent fit for the firm. She brings more than 12 years of management experience and a long history of living and community involvement in Marin County. Leda's unique combination of warmth, caring, and professionalism lets clients know that they are in great hands. Her effervescent spirit and keen wit serve as an inspiration to us all, and her kindness, generosity, and positive attitude is greatly appreciated.

Background, Education and Professional Qualifications:

Leda received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Dominican University of California, and her Master's Degree from Simmons College in Boston. But all of her success, she knows, is meaningless without her faith and her constant surprise and wonder at life. Leda lives in Fairfax with her husband Kai, and their furry friends, Katzie and Michael. They all enjoy each other's company, as well as the natural beauty of Marin.
